IAS Prelims Result 2020 (Released) - UPSC Civil Services Prelims Result

UPSC Prelims Result 2020: Union of Public Services Commission has released UPSC Prelims Result for Civil Services exam 2020 conducted on October 4, 2020. The commission has released the UPSC result for the preliminary exam on October 23, 2020 in online mode at its official website i.e. https://upsconline.nic.in/. The result is released in the pdf format containing the list of roll numbers of the candidates qualified for the UPSC Mains exam. 

This year, a total of 10, 566 candidates out of the total candidates appeared in the preliminary exam have been qualified for UPSC Mains exam. It must be noted that the candidates who are qualified for the next round of the IAS selection process have to apply again by filling the UPSC Detailed Application Form - I (DAF-I)  in online mode. The detailed application form - I will be available on the official website of UPSC from October 28, 2020 onwards. Candidates can fill DAF-I till 6 PM on November 11, 2020

It is to be noted that the exam authority will release IAS cut off soon after the release of the UPSC final result. Candidates need to score a minimum of 33% of the total marks in order to qualify for the UPSC Civil services exam.     

UPSC conducts the IAS exam for recruiting candidates for the top positions in the central government. The civil services exam consists of three stages i.e. Prelims, Mains, and Personality Test. Each stage is an elimination round. The exam authority releases the UPSC result for individual stages separately.

How to Check UPSC Prelims Result?

Candidates who have appeared in the UPSC prelims exam can follow the steps given below to check their results. 

  • Visit the official website of UPSC i.e. upsc.gov.in
  • Go to the link stating “UPSC Civil Services Prelims Result 2020” at the homepage and click on the same.
  • A pdf containing the list of candidates will appear who are eligible for the UPSC mains exam. 
  • Find your roll number in the pdf.  
  • You can also download the pdf for future reference. 

Stages of UPSC Result 2020

IAS exam is conducted in three stages and their result is also declared at three different stages which are explained below: 

UPSC Prelims Result: It is the first stage of the UPSC selection process. Candidates qualifying the prelims stage are eligible for appearing in the UPSC mains exam. Candidates not qualifying at this stage will be directly out of the league. 

UPSC Mains Result: This is the second IAS selection process. Candidates who qualify the prelims exam appear in the mains exam. Candidates qualifying the mains exam will appear in the personality test. IAS mains result will be released in the month of February 2021. 

UPSC Final Result: The final result for the UPSC IAS exam will be available in the month of May 2021. The final result is prepared on the basis of candidates' performance in both mains and personality tests. 

UPSC IAS Marksheet 2020

The exam authority releases IAS prelims and mains mark sheets at its official website after the declaration of the final result. Candidates who have taken the exam and qualified the same can download their mark sheet using their roll number and date of birth. 

How to download UPSC IAS Marksheet?

You can follow the marksheet of the IAS exam by following the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website of UPSC i.e. upsc.gov.in
  • Find the link for downloading the UPSC marksheet of the IAS exam at the homepage and click on the same.
  • A window will appear on the screen, enter your roll number and DOB. 
  • Click on “Submit”. 
  • Your marksheet will appear on the screen. 
  • Download the same for future correspondence. 

UPSC Prelims Cutoff 2020

The Union of Public Service Commission releases UPSC cutoff at its official website. The UPSC cutoff is the minimum score that the candidates have to qualify in order to make it to the required post. The cutoff will be released by the exam authority soon after the conclusion of the exam. The cutoff score may vary as per the category of the students.
