Prelims 2018 Result - UPSC Civil Services Exam

The first round of the Civil Services Examination 2018 was held on June 03, 2018. UPSC Prelims results have been declared on 14th July 2018. A total of 10,468 candidates have been called for the Mains examinations.

All the qualified candidates need to fill up the DAF (CSM) online. The DAF (CSM) will be available on the UPSC website of the Commission from 23/06/2018 to 6/8/2018 till 6.00 P.M.

Follow these steps to check your UPSC Prelims result -

  1. Visit UPSC's official website -
  2. Under the 'Examinations' tab, find the link for 'Active Examinations'
  3. Click on 'Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2018', after which you'll be redirected to a PDF file
  4. Check whether your Roll No. appears on that list

Cut off Score

The UPSC Cut off score for UPSC exam is the lowest score that candidates must obtain to qualify the different stages of civil services examination. It is declared after the announcement of UPSC Prelims Result.

The expected Preliminary examination cut off scores for 2018 are as follows:
  1. General Category: 100 ± 3
  2. OBC category : 96 ± 3
  3. SC category: 83 ± 3
  4. ST category: 81 ± 3

Documents Required for UPSC Mains Exam

After qualifying for UPSC Mains exam, candidates are supposed to fill up a Detailed Application Form (DAF) and upload a list of official documents, wherever applicable. You can find the list as under -
  1. Scanned copy of Certificate of age
  2. Scanned copy of Certificate(s) of educational qualifications (including a copy of recognition letter/equivalence certificate from AIU / UGC, if applicable)
  3. Scanned copy of Certificate in support of the claim to belong to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes (where applicable)
  4. Scanned copy of Certificate in support of the claim for age relaxation (where applicable)
  5. Scanned copy of the certificate in support of the claim to being Physically challenged (along with the certificate of Disability in Dominant (writing) Extremity, wherever applicable)
  6. Scanned copy of Hailing from Certificate to show that the candidate hails from Arunachal Pradesh/ Manipur/ Meghalaya/ Mizoram/ Nagaland or Sikkim (where applicable)
  7. Scanned copy of undertaking for the candidate who is in Government service that he /she has intimated in writing the Head of the Office / Department about his/her appearance in the examination
  8. Scanned copies of documentary proof in support of service/ status/landholding/income from different sources/property held by parents of OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates
