UPSC Civil Services exam date for Prelims 2020 to be announced today!

NEW DELHI: Union Public Service Commission is expected to release the new date for the Civil Services Prelims examination today on May 20, 2020 (Wednesday). The new date for the UPSC CSE prelims examination will be announced on the official website - The UPSC prelims exam was scheduled to be held on May 31, 2020 but due to COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown situation across the country, the authorities postponed the IAS exam.


Earlier, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued a public notice on May 4, 2020 to inform the candidates that UPSC CSE Prelims exam 2020 stands deferred and the new exam date will be announced on May 20, 2020. However, the UPSC has not confirmed that the dates will be released today. This could mean that the dates may be notified today or any day after today.


All the updates regarding any change in the date will be available only on the official website in online mode.No message will be sent to the candidates’ on their mobile or email address about the same.


After the announcement of exam date of UPSC Civil Services Prelims, the authorities will also release the date to download the admit card for the examination. Candidates will be able to download the admit card in online mode from the official website.


UPSC CSE is conducted for the recruitment of candidates in Indian Police Services (IPS) Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and Indian Forest Services (IFS) etc. The selection process of UPSC CSE comprises three stages - prelims exam, mains exam and interview.
