The Combined Graduate Level exam is held by the Staff Selection Commission every year to fill up about 30 posts in different departments. The eligibility criterion for the same is graduation and the entire examination is divided into three parts – Tier 1, Tier 2 and tier 3. Each year, more than 14 lakh candidates appear for about 4000 posts. The Commission declares the answer key each year to enable the candidates to compare their score.
The first part of the examination is a computer based written exam, which consists of 100 questions. The second part is also a computer based exam with 4 papers across different subjects. The third and last paper is a pen and paper based descriptive test. It is important to note that only those candidates who clear the first Tier will be eligible to appear for the second Tier and so on.
The SSC will release the Answer Key 2017 for Tier 1 on September 18, 2017. The candidates who have appeared for the Tier 1 examination can check the answer key from the official website. The answer key will be published in an online mode only and the candidates can download the same to match it with their responses.
The SSCprovides an online window which allows candidates to seek a clarification regarding a wrong question or answer key of SSC CGL. These representations need to be submitted within the scheduled time period with Rs.100 as a fee for each answer to be represented. Based on the representation, the commission will decide and publish a final answer key.
Tier 2 of the examination will be held on November 10 and 11 2017 and the answer key of the same is expected to be released in December 2017.

Given below are the steps to download the Answer key for SSC CGL 2017:
Step 1: The candidates can download the answer key from the official website.
Step 2: You need to enter the roll number and password as per SSC CGL.
Step 3: Click the submit button after entering all the details.
Step 4: The answer key will appear on the screen.
Step 5: You can save or download the answer key and response sheet.
In case the candidate has a doubt regarding the answer provided by the SSC in the answer key, they have an option to challenge it within the given deadline using the online window facility. Candidates can seek clarification on the answer key from the window with the use of their roll number and the code of the question booklet. In case the review authority accepts the challenges, the SSC CGL answer key will be refunded to the candidate. In case of any discrepancy regarding the answer key of Tier 1, the decision of SSC shall be final and further requests of re checking will not be considered.
Candidates need to follow the below mentioned procedure to calculate marks in SSC CGL:
1: Number of correct answers x 2
2: A deduction of 0.50 marks for each incorrect response from the final score.

For a candidate to be eligible for the next level of examination, he will have to obtain the minimum marks, which is the cut off score. The cut off score is the minimum marks a candidate is required to score in order to go ahead with Tier 2.
