OPSC 2020 - Odisha Public Service Commission Exam

OPSC 2020 - OPSC has released the date for the prelims exam i.e. March 15, 2020. The application form of OPSC has been released last year in the month of November for a total of 153 vacancies on the official website - opsc.gov.in.

Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) conducts OPSC exam to recruit shortlisted candidates in Group A & Group B post/services. Those who are between 21 to 32 years of age and have a bachelor’s degree can apply for OPSC 2020. The exam conducting body held Odisha PSC in three phases - Prelims, Mains and Personality Test. All the eligible candidates will have to qualify all the three stages.

OPSC Application Form 2020

The application form of OPSC has been released on November 13, 2019, in online mode. Candidates who are eligible can apply till December 10 and pay the application fee till December 16, 2019. To fill the application form candidates are required to fill in the basic details, academic details, contact details and upload the scanned images in the prescribed format. After completing all these, candidates will have to pay the application fee of Rs.500 in offline mode. Check below the steps to fill the OPSC application form

OPSC 2020 Eligibility Criteria 

The exam conducting body prescribes the eligibility criteria of OPSC along with its notification. Candidates are advised to check the Odisha PSC eligibility criteria in order to avoid rejection. The eligibility criteria are based on nationality, age and educational qualification:

Candidates must be a citizen of India

Age:

Candidates whose minimum age is 21 years and maximum age is 32 can apply for the OPSC 2020. Also, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be given upper age relaxation as per the government norms. Check below the table to know the upper age relaxation:

Educational Qualification:

To appear for OPSC 2020, candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized Government institution. Apart from this, candidates must know how to read, write and speak Odia. They must also have:

  • Completed Middle School Examination with Odia or
  • Must have passed HSC or equivalent examination with Odia as a medium of
  • Examination or
  • Have Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class-VII from a School or Educational Institution recognized by the Government of Odisha or the Central Government; or
  • Must have passed a test in Odia in Middle English School Standard conducted by the School & Mass Education Department of the Government of Odisha.

Number of attempts 

Eligible candidates can appear for four times in OPSC 2020. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST have no such limitation on the number of attempts. 

OPSC Admit Card 2020 

The admit card of OPSC 2020 is released in all mode separately for all the three stages. Candidates can download the OPSC admit card 2020 by using the required login credentials - application number and date of birth. Candidates who have successfully submitted the application form will only be issued the admit card of OPSC 2020. Along with the admit card, candidates will also have to carry anyone photo identity card. The admit card will likely to contain details such as the name of candidates, parent’s name, date of birth, category, roll number, date, time and venue of examination. 

In case of any discrepancies in the OPSC 2020 admit card, candidates must immediately contact the exam conducting authority and get the corrections done in it. 

OPSC Exam Centres 2020 

Odisha Public Sevice Commission releases the exam centres for OPSC along with the notification.OPSC 2020 prelims, as well as mains, will be held at five zones of Odisha. They need to select the exam centres of OPSC while filling the application form.

OPSC Exam Pattern 2020

OPSC exam 2020 is held in three phases - Prelims, Mains and Personality Test/Interview. The exam pattern for the written test has been prescribed by the exam conducting body along with the notification. OPSC exam pattern 2020 will help the candidates in getting information about the number of questions asked in the exam, marking scheme, mode of exam, time duration and type of questions etc. Candidates can check below the exam pattern of OPSC 2020 from the table below:

OPSC 2020 - Prelims

The prelims exam of OPSC is held for two papers - General Studies I and General Studies II. Both the papers are held for 200 marks and candidates are required to complete the paper within two hours. There will be objective type of questions. Check below the table:

OPSC 2020 - Mains 

As per the exam pattern of OPSC, mains exam will have five compulsory papers conducted for 300 marks each. And there will be four optional papers and candidates will have to select any two papers. The optional paper will carry a total of 1200 marks. 

OPSC 2020 Personal Interview

The candidates for the personality test are selected on the basis of the marks secured in the mains exam. The personality test is held for 250 marks. The final list of recommended candidates will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the Mains exam and the personality test.

OPSC Answer Key 2020

OPSC releases the provisional and final answer key for the exam. The answer key of OPSC contains the correct answer to all the questions asked in the exam. The OPSC final answer key will be published in pdf format. Candidates can compare their answers with that of OPSC answer key 2020 and check their probable scores. The result of OPSC will be declared on the basis of final OPSC answer key. 

OPSC Result 2020

The result of OPSC will be released separately for all the three stages - prelims, mains and personality test. OPSC result 2020 is released in online mode in the form of pdf.  In order to get recruited, candidates will have to qualify all the three stages of OPSC. Candidates obtaining minimum qualifying marks in mains examination will be shortlisted for personality test. On the basis of marks secured in the mains exam and personality test, the final result of OPSC will be declared. 

OPSC Cut Off 2020

OPSC cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to secure to qualify the exam. OPSC cutoff of prelims examination is calculated based on the marks secured by the last selected candidates. The exam conducting body decides qualifying marks for Odia and English (compulsory papers). The final OPSC cutoff is determined based on the total marks secured in the mains exam and interview by finally selected candidates. OPSC cutoff is released category-wise separately for male and female candidates.
