Important notes:

  • The candidates must have obtained at least 65% marks in B.Tech/B.E/AMIE and passed a full-time degree in engineering in the above-given domains. The average of all the years is taken into account.
  • The candidates belonging to OBC, ST, SC, and PWD must obtain at least 55% marks in the qualifying exam.
  • Final year students can also apply for NTPC recruitment. They must qualify the eligibility criteria at the time of joining the organisation and also obtain a minimum of 65% marks in their engineering degree.

Age Limit for NTPC Recruitment through GATE for Various Classes

Essential Steps on NTPC Recruitment Application Form 2019

To apply for NTPC recruitment through GATE 2019, the interested candidates must follow the given steps:

  • After the candidates have downloaded the admit card for GATE 2019, the registration number for GATE must also be entered in the online NTPC recruitment application form, which is available on www.ntpccareers.net
  • The candidates belonging to General/OBC category need to pay a nominal registration fee of ₹ 150 and the ST/SC/PWD category candidates don’t need to pay the registration fee. The fee can be either paid in offline or online mode
  • Once the payment of registration fee is done, the candidate must upload a passport size photograph and sign it as specified in the application form
  • After filling the other necessary data in the application form, the candidates need to submit the form online and a unique registration code will be generated
  • The candidates should take the printout of the registration slip and retain it for future purpose

Selection Process by NTPC through GATE

The following steps are followed by NTPC for recruiting the candidates through GATE 2019.

  • If a candidate has passed the GATE 2019 examination of NTPC recruitment, he or she will have to appear for an online aptitude examination conducted by NTPC
  • The online aptitude examination is a qualifying test and does not carry weightage in the final selection process.
  • The candidates who pass the online aptitude examination will further have to attend a group discussion and give a personal interview
  • The candidates must download their admit card for online aptitude examination, which will include important data on the examination venue and the stipulated dates
  • The result for the NTPC online aptitude examination will be announced on the same day of the exam
  • Lastly, the selected candidates will also have to undergo a medical test which will be administered by the NTPC board of medical officers.

Weightage of Marks for The Final Selection

The final merit list will be prepared based on the GATE Score, Group Discussion and Interview. A final merit list will be prepared on the candidate’s performance in all stages of the NTPC recruitment process. The detailed distribution of the marks is presented in the table given below:

Remuneration for NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2019

The shortlisted candidates will be qualified for a pay scale of ₹ 24,900-3%-50500, and the basic pay will be ₹ 24,900 during the one-year training session.

Service Bond Agreement

  • The candidates belonging to the General/OBC category also need to sign a service bond agreement for ₹ 2,50,000 to serve the organisation for a term of three years once they complete the training period of one year.
  • Candidates belonging to the Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, Persons with Disability will have to furnish a bond for Rs 1,25,000 for the same duration.
