MPSC 2020: Prelims (Postponed), Application Form, Pattern, and Syllabus

MPSC 2020 - Maharashtra Public Service Commission has postponed the MPSC State Service Preliminary exam which was scheduled to be held on October 11, 2020. The revised date of the exam will be available soon at the official website of MPSC. Candidates willing to take the exam this year must keep a track of the official website to keep themselves updated.

MPSC 2020 Application Form 

The process of the MPSC application form has been over on January 13, 2020. Candidates will only be able to download their admit cards for MPSC only if the applications were submitted successfully. MPSC 2020 Admit Card 

Follow the steps given below to download your admit card:

  • Candidates appearing in the MPSC State Civil Services exam can download the admit card from the direct link at the official website mpsc.gov.in.
  • The MPSC Prelims admit card for the preliminary exam is likely to be available for download 10-15 days before the exam.

  • The exam conducting body will announce the admit card in the online mode on the official website.

MPSC 2020 Eligibility Criteria 

Public Service Commission, Maharashtra prescribes the eligibility criteria for all the candidates of MPCS. The eligibility criteria generally include requirements based on age, nationality and educational qualification. Candidates can check the complete MPCS eligibility criteria 2020 below:

Note: To appear for the MPSC exam a candidate must have completed minimum age of 19 years (on or before 1 April of the particular year in which candidate is going to appear for the Prelims exam).

Educational Qualifications: equivalent degree or degree from a university that is government-recognized. Other requirements will be as per the post requirements. On the other hand, all the candidates must have complete knowledge of Marathi language.

Physical Criteria: For the specific post of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)/Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) which is given in the official notification.

  • 1/3 negative marking system is relevant for all objective papers of GS.
  • In every mains examination paper, the qualifying marks for open category candidates are 45 and for the reserved category candidates, it is 40.

MPSC 2020 Syllabus 

There are different MPSC syllabus for the prelims exam, mains exam and the final interview.

Prelims Exam Syllabus:

  • It consists of two papers i.e. Paper 1 and paper 2
    • General Studies (GS) and
    • Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT)
  • General Studies (GS): History, Geography, Current affairs, Polity and governance, Social Development, Environment, Economy, Science.
  • CSAT:
    (a) General mental ability, Basic numeracy
    (b) Decision making and problem-solving, LR (Logical reasoning) and analytical ability
    (c) English Comprehension, Interpersonal skills as well as communication skills, etc.

Mains Exam Syllabus:

  • Basic Marathi and English language
  • History, Geography, and Agriculture
  • Indian polity and laws
  • Human resource development and human rights
  • Science and Technology and Economy

Final Interview: Overall Personality

Eligibility required for the post opted for his/her level of knowledge of various social and national issues, awareness regarding events happening around him/her, capacity to take decisions, presence of mind, etc. factors are being considered.

MPSC 2020 Answer Key 

After the exam, the Public Service Commission, Maharashtra releases the answer key of MPSC 2020. The answer key will be expected to be available in the form of a PDF. In case of any discrepancy, candidates will also be able to raise objections. To challenge the MPSC answer key 2020, candidates will have to pay fees for each and every question. After analyzing the complete answer key, the exam conducting body will release the final and foremost answer key. The answer key of MPSC will help the candidate to calculate their possible marks. MPSC 2020 Result

  • The final list of the shortlisted candidates will be available by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission after the successful completion of the selection phase (i.e. Prelims, Main and the final Interviews).
