Separate Lists Of All The Bonus And Incorrect Questions

As it is with any kind of exam, the JEE Advanced 2019 may have some wrong answers. However, to make sure that the wrong questions do not hinder the performance of the students, it is expected that the governing bodies will award full marks for such questions. This practice is common and is also seen in IIT JEE Mains exams.

When the JEE Advanced solutions and answers are released on the official website, the students will be notified of the questions that have been confirmed to be wrong.

Here is why some questions on JEE Advanced could be wrong:

  • The question has no correct answer, or
  • The question is completely wrong in concept.

How to Challenge the Answer Key

Once the  JEE Advanced official answer key is released, it must be noted that you can challenge the answers that you think are wrong. Some questions could have more than one correct answer. In order for you to make sure that your answers are correct and the answer key is released with correct answers, you can follow the steps given below to challenge the answers:

Before submitting a challenge, it is best to ask your seniors and teachers for advice.

Rank Predictor Tool to Calculate Approx AIR

The JEE Advanced tests can be nerve-wracking and hard to crack. However, once the answer key is released, it becomes easy for you to understand where your performance will take you. You could make use of the online rank predictor tool, which allows you to predict your rank.

For this, you will need to input the correct scores of your test. To come to the correct valuation of your scores, you will need to follow the marking scheme as released by the official website.

Once you have the correct scores, here is what you can do:

  • Go to an online rank predictor. You can make use of the rank predictor. (Link to be added by Neostencil)
  • Click on the link, and you will find a new page.
  • Here you will find a section for entering your JEE Advanced scores.
  • Make sure that you enter the correct JEE Advanced scores.
  • Click on predict now, to find your rank.

It must be noted that the use of online rank predictors is only indicative. You will still need to wait for the official release of ranks to know where you stand.

Difficulty Level Analysis of the Exam

The 2018 JEE Advanced paper II was more difficult than paper I. The most difficult subject in Paper II was Mathematics whereas in Paper I, it was Physics.

Paper I

  • Level of Difficulty for Paper I was deemed as moderate.
  • The options for numerical questions in the examination were given in decimal points, which made it trickier and time-consuming for the students.
  • Chemistry had a lot of numerical questions involving some time-consuming calculations.

Paper II

  • Level of Difficulty for Paper II was deemed as moderate, but a little tougher than Paper I.
  • The number of questions from Integration was much more this year compared to the exam conducted in 2017.
  • Matrices based questions made Mathematics a lengthy test.

Considering the above-mentioned points in mind, it is tricky to predict the level of difficulty that the students should expect this year. Since there is no fixed pattern to the exam, it becomes even harder to predict the difficulty level of JEE Advanced 2019.

Marking Scheme of the JEE Advanced 2019

The JEE Advanced 2019 is made up of two exams, Paper I and Paper II. The marking scheme of the exam is as follows:

  • Incorrect answers are subjected to negative marking,
  • For Paper I:
    • A single correct answer question type is awarded 3 marks for the correct answer and one mark is deducted for the wrong answer.
    • For 1 or more correct answer type questions, 4 marks are awarded if all the correct options are marked. For incorrect answers, students will be penalized with negative 2 marks.
    • The single digit integer type questions will be awarded 3 marks for the correct answer, and there will be no negative marking.
  • Here is the marking scheme for paper II:
    • A single correct answer question type is awarded 3 marks for the correct answer and one mark is deducted for the wrong answer.
    • For 1 or more correct answer type questions, 4 marks are awarded if all the correct options are marked. For incorrect answers, students will be penalized with negative 2 marks.
    • For comprehension type questions, correct answers will be rewarded 3 marks for the correct answer, and there will be no negative marking.
