Additionally, the candidates must take a printout of the IOCL application form, and attach a passport size photograph on the form and sign at the indicated place. It must be kept handy for verification purposes if the candidate is selected and called for group discussion (GD)/group task (GT) and interview.

Selection Process by IOCL through GATE

The selection process for the position of officers/GAEs/engineers/research officers in the R&D Centre and for assistant officers (Quality Control) in Marketing Division will include the following:

  • Based on the score of GATE 2019, the candidates will be appointed for further selection process namely:
  • Group Discussion/Group Task
  • Personal Interview (PI) for the evaluation of domains such as knowledge, skill, and aptitude.
  • The engineering graduates wanting to pursue a career with IOCL must give the exam in the same subject.
  • The score from any previous GATE examination such as GATE 2018 will not be valid.
  • The candidates need to qualify the GATE examination first for getting selected for further process including GD/GT round and personal interview. However, the selection will be dependent on the merit of the candidates from diverse categories in accordance with the reservation scheme of Government of India.
