GPSC Exam Pattern 2020

GPSC Exam Pattern 2020 - Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) releases the exam pattern of GPSC along with the notification. Candidates who are preparing for the exam can check the GPSC exam pattern 2020 for all the stages - Prelims and Mains. The candidates need to qualify Gujarat Civil Services Exam 2020 to secure a job in Class I and Class II Vacancies in the Gujarat Government.

It is important to know the GPSC Exam Pattern inside out as part of preparation. Sometimes lack of knowledge of the syllabus and GPSC Exam Pattern is the primary cause of failure.

Besides the GPSC Exam Pattern, one needs to know about the Syllabus of the GPSC Exam 2020 as well. To get recruited through Gujarat Public Service Commission, candidates need to clear the three most essential sections which are as follows:

  • GPSC Pre Exam
  • GPSC Main Exam
  • Interview

GPSC Syllabus, therefore, can be broadly divided into two parts; GPSC Prelims Syllabus and GPSC Mains Syllabus.

GPSC Exam Pattern 2020 for Prelims

The preliminary examination will consist of two papers of objective type (multiple choice questions). On the basis of marks obtained in this examination, candidates are declared qualified for Mains Examination. The final selection list will be prepared only on the basis of marks obtained in the Mains Examination and Interview.

  • Question papers will be of objective type (multiple choice questions) and will be out of 200 marks each.
  • Each question will have four probable answers grouped under A, B, C and D of which the only one will be the correct answer.
  • Both GS-I and GS-II question papers consist of 200 questions each.
  • The total marks for both papers are 400 and the time duration for each paper is 2 hours.
  • Each question paper will be in English or Gujarati.

GPSC Exam Pattern 2020 for Mains

Mains Examination will consist of a written examination. The Written examination will consist of six papers of conventional essay type questions.

  • All papers are descriptive in nature.
  • Each paper will be of three hours duration.
  • Marks assigned to all six papers are 150 and the total marks allotted is 900 marks.
  • The Personality test will be out of 100 marks bringing the grand total to 1000 marks.
