About Course: History Optional Test Series

While the answer writing has always been of paramount importance, it has become even more important after the changes made by UPSC in 2013. It is because more questions are needed to answer and that too in less number of words and in less time. It demands a good level of answer writing skills and of course, the analytics skills as that are intricately linked to answer writing skills.

Since not all possess such skills, History Optional Test Series is floated to help students to acquire a level of writing skills so that she can write good answers in the mains exam. The main pillars of History Optional Test Series are setting good question papers, providing the exam like conditions, answer evaluation and elaborate discussion.

The questions framed for the History Optional Test Series are comparable to UPSC question papers. These are not straight- forward. Instead, analytic questions are framed. Since many other students participate regularly in the test, one can feel the exam like conditions. Moreover, it is advised to students to write tests exam like mindset than only they can face the same problems as they do in the exam.

The answer evaluation of History Optional Test Series is such that every aspect of answer – content, structure, language, etc – are studied before rewarding marks. Further, elaborate comments on every answer are provided so that the student can analyze his shortcomings in every answer. After that discussion class is held to discuss every test. In this class, the structure of every answer is given. The writing of introduction and conclusion is emphasized. Most importantly, for the main body, the scope of the question, relevant facts and quotes are discussed in detail.
