Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has released the notification of the recruitment of Junior Telecom Officers (JTO) in Electronics, Telecom, Electrical, Computer Science, Radio, Information Technology, and Instrumentation Engineering disciplines through GATE 2019. The recruitment is only being done for SC, ST, and OBC candidates. BSNL is a well-established telecom service and network management PSU and has installed quality telecom network in India.

Age Limit for BSNL Recruitment through GATE for Various Classes

The age constraints for BSNL recruitment through GATE 2019 are listed in the table given below:

Essential Steps on BSNL Recruitment Application Form 2019

The procedure for applying for BSNL recruitment through GATE 2019 is mentioned below:

  • The candidates need to apply online, and the registration number that is mentioned on the admit card of GATE 2019 must be entered.
  • The candidates must also enter their details including personal as well as academic qualifications along with other details as instructed. After the personal details are filled, the candidates are required to make the payment online.
  • After submitting the details and making the payment, the candidates are required to save a copy of the printed application for future purposes.

Important note: The application fee for General/OBC category is ₹500 and for SC/ST candidates it is ₹300. The candidates can pay online by either net banking or debit/credit cards.

Selection Process by BSNL through GATE

The selection process of the candidates will be made against the vacancies also known as ‘group circle’, which is done as per the inclination of the candidate.

Let’s take an in-depth look at the processes followed by BSNL for the recruitment of JTO.

  • The candidates will be expected to select one circle while filling the application and will be acknowledged for the same
  • A circle wise merit list will be prepared by the authorities based on the scores obtained in GATE 2019 of the candidates and the vacancies available under that particular circle
  • Subsequently, a circle-wise cutoff will also be prepared to select the candidates while developing the merit list for each circle.
  • Other than the GATE 2019 exam, there will be no other test or interview held for BSNL recruitment
  • The candidates who are selected need to get their certificates verified and the call letters will be issued consequently
  • To get selected the candidates need to qualify for a pre-appointment training
  • The candidates who do not pass the pre-appointment training in the first try will be given a second try to qualify for the training

Documents Required for Verification

  • Date of Birth: The date of birth registered in secondary school, matriculation, or leaving certificate recognised by an Indian University. No other certificate will be taken into account.
  • Admit card for GATE 2019
  • Scorecard for GATE 2019
  • Marksheets of Class X, Class XII, bachelor’s and masters
  • Documents of Class X, Class XII, bachelor’s and masters
  • The category certificate

Training Period:

  • The candidates will have to undergo the training procedure established by BSNL, and will be given a stipend during the training period.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be appointed with an IDA Pay Scale of E1 ₹16400-40500 with annual increment @ 3% on the basic pay. Other allowances include medical benefits, HRA, IDA, Perks, etc.
  • Candidates will be required to serve in the circle they have been selected for.
 However, BSNL has the right to post any selected JTO(T) (Junior Telecom Officer Telecom) to any of the Circles either temporarily or on a permanent basis

Service Bond for BSNL Recruitment through GATE 2019:

The shortlisted candidates will be required to execute a Bond in the format as specified by the Company to serve in BSNL for a period of 2 years from the date of their appointment as JTO(T) (Junior Telecom Officer for Telecom department) or a period as specified by BSNL for the post from time to time.
