Assam Judicial Service Exam 2020: The Assam Judicial Service Examination is organised each year by the Gauhati High Court to recruit suitable candidates for Grade III posts in the AJS. The notification is published on the Assam High Court’s official website or the website of the Assam Public Service Commission in case the exam is conducted by the APSC at Assam Public Service Commission.

The competitive exam for Gauhati high court Civil Judge in Junior Division is held in 3 phases. The candidates need to qualify for each of these phases to be selected for the post. There are Preliminary Entrance Test – Written Examination that will have Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type. The candidates who qualify this test will be able to appear for the Main Examination. Then there is a main Examination which is subjective and is the Written Examination.  The candidates who are successful in the prelims Test will be eligible to appear for the Viva-Voce Test. This is followed by a Viva-Voce Test which constitutes a Personal Interview or an Oral Examination for the final selection.

Gauhati High Court Judicial Service - Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must be a citizen of India and must be holder of a Degree in Law from a recognized University established by law in India. (I.e. LLB degree from a BCI recognized College / University and eligible to practice as an Advocate in India.)

 

Age Limits: The candidate must be over 22 years age and must be less than 38 years old for the general category students. For the candidates from SC/ST reserved category the upper limit of age is 43 years whereas for PWD reserved category, it is 48 years

General Requirements: He/she must be a citizen Of India in sound health, with a good moral character and must not be linked to or have a history with any criminal case involving moral.

 

Gauhati High Court Judicial Service -Application Process:

Candidates must follow the following steps to register for the exam online for Assam Judicial Services Online:

#1: Log on to the official website of Assam Public Service Commission and click on link for the application form.

#2: Enter all the required details including name, date of birth, address, educational qualifications and more

#3: Upload scanned photo passport size along with a signature in the format & size asked

#4: Pay the fee for the application

Assam Judicial Service Application Fee for the general category applicants is Rs. 500 while for the candidates from reserved category, it is Rs. 250.

Assam Judicial Service Admit Card 2020

After validating the documents and the details, the board of Gauhati High Court for exam will release the admit card on the official website for all the eligible candidates. The candidates can go to the website and download the admit card issued by Gauhati high court through its official website. Typically, admit cards for Assam Judicial Service Exam are released 2 weeks prior to the examination date. Candidates must fill in all the mandatory credentials and then go ahead to download the admit card. After candidates download their admit card, they should take the printout and retain it until the exam day. It must be then carried to examination hall to validate your identity.

The entire paper of prelims will be objective type and will 100 marks which will consist of 10 marks worth of questions from the official language. The duration of the exam will be of two hours.

Each of these papers will carry under marks each accept for official language paper. The Assamese language paper will consist of 50 marks worth of questions. The duration of the exam will be of two hours.

The candidates will have choice to give their answers in Gujarati or English except for test of English Language.

The Candidates who get 60% or above as aggregate in the main examination subject to securing a minimum of 45% marks in every Paper – I, II, III, & IV with 35 marks for the language exam paper V will be called for a Viva Voce round.

 

Viva-Voce Test

For the candidates who qualify the mains exam after qualifying the prelims, there will be a Viva-Voce Test consisting of 100 marks.  For the Viva-Voce Test, minimum qualifying marks are 25% for the candidates of General category whereas 20% for the SC/ST/OBC & BC.

 

None of the candidates, regardless of the marks secured by him in the Main Examination, will be qualified for selection or appointment, if he does not get the bare minimum marks enlisted in the test for Viva-Voce.

 

The final list of chosen candidates will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the Main Examination and the Viva-Voce Test both.

Assam Judicial Service Exam Result

The result for Assam Judicial Services prelims Exam will be declared through the notification website. First of all, the official website of Assam will have the result uploaded to it for the Pre Exam. Then, followed by the conduction of Main Exam, the result will be declared on the website of Assam for the mains. The final outcome will be announced following the interview round.
