APPSC 2020 - Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission Exam

APPSC 2020 - Andhra Public Service Commission has released the revised exam calendar at its official website on June 22, 2020. With the revised exam calendar, the commission has released the APPSC Group 1 Mains exam dates which were postponed due to COVID - 19 pandemic. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held between April 7 - 19, 2020. The date for the exam will be available soon on the official website of APPSC. The commission recruits applicants to various Group 1, 2, 3, and 4 services for the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Latest: In the view of the current pandemic situation, the commission has decided to conduct APPSC Group-I Services (Main) Written Examination in all 13 districts of A.P and Hyderabad, as per schedule i.e., from November 2-13, 2020. Therefore, all the provisionally qualified candidates are informed to give their three (03) preferences of examination centre options afresh on or before September 10, 2020. APPSC Application Form 2020

This section covers the required steps of filling up the application form that would be the same for all the groups of the APPSC civil services exam. The steps are mentioned below:

  • First, the candidates have to visit the official website.
  • Now check if the link to the group that you intend to apply for has been activated. If yes, then proceed further.
  • Now register on the website by creating a password and login-id.
  • Select the Group-specific link of the exam and then click on the application form.
  • After completion of the registration process, now you have to enter the application form window.
  • Enter all the relevant details.
  • Upload documents like mark sheet of 10th/12th scanned photo and signature.
  • Now pay the relevant fees.
  • Finally submit the application form.

Application Fees:

For Group 1

  • The application fees can be remitted in ONLINE mode only.
  • The exam fee is INR 120.
  • Online application process fee is INR 100.
  • The total fee is INR 220.

For Group 2

  • For general and OBC candidates – INR 330 (INR 250 plus INR 80).
  • For SC/ST and ex-servicemen – INR 250.

For Group 3

  • For General categories – INR 330 (INR 250 plus INR 80).
  • For SC/ST and candidates who are physically disabled – INR 80.

For Group 4

  • For General categories – INR 330 (INR 250 plus INR 80).
  • For SC/ST and candidates who are physically handicapped – INR 250.

Mode of paying Application fees for all groups: ONLINE mode only.

APPSC Admit Card 2020

  • The admit card shall be available on the official website of APPSC a few days before the exam.
  • All candidates require to carry the admit card to the exam venue without fail.
  • For each group, there shall be a separate admit card.
  • Also, for every round of exams of every group, the admit card should be downloaded from the official website.
  • Admit card contains all required information about the candidate like name, duration, exam center, contact details, exam venue etc.

APPSC Eligibility Criteria 2020


  • This criterion is common for all groups.
  • All candidates should be citizens of India only to apply for all the different groups.

Educational Qualification

For Groups 1, 2 and 3

  • The minimum eligibility criteria that the applicants should possess is a graduation degree in any disciple from a particular university that is recognized by the government of India itself.

For Group 4

  • The minimum qualification comprises all candidates who have completed their Pre University/ intermediate level/equivalent from a school/10 plus 2/college that is recognized by the government of India.

Age Limit

For Group 1

  • Minimum age limit: 18 years
  • Maximum age limit: 42 years

For Group 2

  • Minimum age limit: 18 years
  • Maximum age limit: 42 years

For Group 3

  • Minimum age limit: 18 years
  • Maximum age limit: 42 years

For Group 4

  • Minimum age limit: 18 years
  • Maximum age limit: 36 years

Age Relaxation (Common for all groups)

The age relaxation norms are basically common for all groups – Group 1, 2, 3 and 4. The same has been mentioned below:

  • For SC/ST and OBC candidates – 5 years
  • For persons with disabilities – 10 years.
  • For ex-servicemen- 3 years
  • For state government employees – 5 years
  • For divorcees and widows (belonging to General category) – Till the age of 48 years
  • For divorcees and widows (belonging to SC/ST categories) – Till the age of 43 years

APPSC Exam Pattern 2020

APPSC exam pattern for all the groups varies between each other. Here we present the exam pattern for each group individually.

Group 1


  • Exam duration is 2 and a half hours.
  • A total number of questions is 150.
  • Total marks of paper are 150.
  • Negative marking is applicable for wrong answers.


  • Totally 6 papers
  • Papers are descriptive in nature.
  • Each paper has 3 sections
  • Each paper is set for 150 marks.


  • This round is conducted for 75 marks.

Group 2


  • Consists of 1 paper of 3 sections.
  • Paper consists of 150 questions.
  • Total marks are also 150.
  • Negative marking is applicable.
  • Exam conducted for 2 and a half hours.


  • Consists of 3 papers.
  • Each paper conducted for 150 marks each.
  • Each paper was conducted for two and a half hours.
  • Each paper conducted for a duration of two and a half hours.


  • This round also includes document verification for the candidates.

Group 3


  • Paper consists of 150 marks.
  • Time limit is 150 minutes.
  • Objective type of paper
  • Negative marking is applicable.


  • Total marks are 300.
  • 2 papers each of 150 marks.
  • Objective type of paper.
  • Negative marking applicable.

Document verification round

  • Candidates have to submit all the documents (both photocopies and originals) that have been mentioned in their application.

Group 4

Written Exam

  • Consists of two papers.
  • Each paper is of 150 marks.
  • Each paper is conducted for 150 minutes.
  • Total marks for the written exam are 300.

APPSC Answer Key 2020

APPSC releases the answer key of Andhra Pradesh PSC a few days after the exam gets over. The APPSC Answer Key 2020 is published on the official website in the form of pdf. Initially, the exam conducting body releases the provisional answer key of APPSC 2020. In case of any discrepancy in the provisional answer key, candidates can raise objections within the prescribed date. After reviewing all the answers, APPSC will release the final answer key. 

APPSC answer key will contain all the correct answers to the questions asked in the exam. Candidates can also calculate their probable scores based on the number of correct and incorrect answers.

APPSC Cut Off 2020

The official website of APPSC releases the cut off marks individually for each and every group after displaying the results of the specific group. The cut-off marks for prelims and mains examination shall be different. The APPSC cut off marks are also displayed category-wise. APPSC Result 2020

The procedure to check results from the official website is common for all the groups as mentioned below:

  • Check the official website of the APPSC.
  • Go to the section of results or locate the result link in the ‘What’s new/ notification’ section.
  • Click on the results for a suitable group that is relevant to the applicant.
  • Now you have to enter the registration number and date of birth.
  • A PDF list containing the complete merit list shall be displayed immediately.
  • Take a print copy/download result sheet for future reference.
